KREF – A film challenge 2017 – Category – ‘Absolutely Different For The Same Purpose’  

Studying is often thought of as boring, but it can be a creative, interesting, and extraordinary endeavor. This also applies to reaching and maintaining objectives in the regular educational process. What is needed for creating good classroom dynamics is for the teachers to approach their practice with more creative energy and love.

The call for participation to the international festival of educational films KREF 2017 with the Topic: ‘Absolutely Different For The Same Purpose’, gives you an opportunity to choose your favourite school subject, or use integrated approach and include several subjects, and record 4 or 5 minutes educational film that will inspire all the teachers and educators. (Teachers can ask a colleague or friend who is good at recording or editing and make a perfect film that will present your extraordinary work as an educator).

HOW CAN YOU TAKE PART IN THIS CATEGORY?

The author of the film could be any teacher or professional associate from the State or Private Primary schools in Macedonia.

The rules state a limitation of one film per author. 

THE FILM MUST BE RECORDED DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR 2016/2017 AND THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS MARCH  31^st , 2017.

• The duration of the final video recording should be between 4 and 5 minutes.
• The film can be recorded by a video recorder, a camera, or a mobile phone that can provide a good quality recording. If you have any doubts as to whether you are good enough at recording or editing, please feel free to ask a parent or even a professional to help you. The authors can choose which editing program to use for the recorded material.
• The film should be recorded mostly in the classroom. Although it can include parts filmed in the school yard, in the hall, or anywhere in the school, visits to institutions or other places out of the school ARE NOT ALLOWED in this category.
• The content of the film should be recorded in ONE DAY and it should show a creative and innovative approach of the chosen lesson or the chosen integrated lessons from the regular curriculum. (Extra- curricular activities and clubs CAN NOT TAKE PART in this category.)
• The author should request and gain written permission from parents for filming the children before they start working on the films, as they will be made public so as to promote educational ideas on film channels, social networks, and educational web pages.
• The obligatory information in the introductory part of the film is the following: Primary school name, Place, Grade of the students, Name of the author-educator, and the Topic of the lesson or the integrated lessons (without the objectives).
• Copyrights of other peoples’ IDEAS, MUSIC, and/or PICTURES must not be breached.
• The film should be uploaded on your YouTube channel with the following title: -“For KREF 2017 ‘Absolutely different for the same purpose’ and include the name of the author. In the ‘description of the film’ field, the following information is compulsory:
  1. The topic of the lesson
  2. Grade-age of the students
  3. School – place, State
  4. The authors’ (only one person) and collaborators information should be given

• The organizer has the right to disqualify the entry after appraisal.
• The organizer keeps the right to promote the films where needed for educational purposes as well as promoting the teaching profession.
