As part of the project activities of the “School Plastic Free Movement,” supported by the Erasmus+ KA3 program of the European Union, representatives from the NGO “Friends of Education,” along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anita Shterjoska-Mitreska from the Faculty of Pedagogy “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Skopje, University “St. Cyril and Methodius” – Skopje, participated in the International Conference “A School of Cultural Migration and Social Emigration.” The conference took place on April 26 and 27, 2024, in Verona, Italy.
The event was organized by the partner coordinator of the Polo Europeo Della Conoscenza project (Italy) (https://www.europole.org) to highlight the activities of all partner organizations involved in this project. As part of the conference, an international student competition was held under the theme “YOUNG SCIENTISTS SAVE PLANET EARTH.” The winning teams from national competitions, which had been organized for research teams from primary schools in the partner countries (Italy, Turkey, Lithuania, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Portugal, and Macedonia), presented their projects. These were evaluated by an international committee of educational experts from all partner countries.
We were honored that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anita Shterjoska-Mitreska from the Faculty of Pedagogy “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Skopje, University “St. Cyril and Methodius” – Skopje was representing Macedonia. Special recognition was given to the project team from Macedonia for their presentation of a digital book, featuring original content and illustrations created by students. The book is designed for the ecological and inclusive education of children aged 7 to 10. The team from OOU “Grigor Prlichev” – Ohrid, who represented Macedonia in the “School Plastic Free Movement” project, won third prize. The conference also included presentations from speakers and professors from various countries who shared their experiences through panel discussions designed for teachers and students.
