The “Plastic Orchestra” project – School Plastic Free Movement (SPEM) of the non-governmental association “Friends of Education” and OOU “Živko Brajkovski” from the Skopje municipality of Butel received the prestigious Award for Intercultural Achievements (The Intercultural Achievement Award – IAA), awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria.
The award ceremony took place on October 10, 2023, in Vienna, and the award was received by the representatives of “Friends of Education” and OOU “Živko Brajkovski,” teachers Elena Apostoloska, M.Sc., and Hava Saracini, M.Sc.
The Intercultural Achievement Award (IAA) was awarded this year for its tenth anniversary. This prestigious recognition is awarded by the working group “Dialogue of Cultures” within the framework of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the independent jury selects the winners from more than 350 registered projects from all over the world. This is the first time that a project from our country has been honored with this significant recognition.
The award is given to innovative projects from the non-governmental sector that successfully support and promote intercultural communication and cooperation in various fields. Awards are given in seven categories: sustainability, recent events, innovation, technology, media, as well as special awards for integration and the best Austrian project.
