UGD Multimedia Center hеld a workshop about the application of the “Grandma’s games.” The project is organized by the Global Forum Microsoft held in Washington. Macedonian teachers were awarded the second place in the competition of 115 projects from 70 countries for the project called “Grandma’s games”.
“This is an interesting way of learning and it is close to the children’s psychology. These are old forgotten games that were played by our grandparents. Many of today’s students are not at all aware of them. The idea is to renew them, digitize and implement them in the teaching process. There are many games such as Janino-Janino, Bzzz, and others”, stated Marina Vasileva who is the author of the project.
Some of the games are associated with the modern tools, such as “Xbox” and “Kinect” through which children interactively play these old games. The goal of these games is for children to learn through play.
“The workshop will be for all those who want to learn about the way of studying through play. This covers several aspects. Studies say that games contributed to excellent results in the teaching of children”, confirmed Mrs. Vasileva.
The workshop is organized by the Faculty of Educational Sciences for all those who want to get acquainted with this method and all teachers of this region are invited, as well as interested parents
